We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Solutions Architect to lead enterprise-level architecture initiatives across scalable web and application platforms. This role requires strong hands-on technical depth in Java, AWS, and solution architecture, along with proven leadership capability to guide engineering teams and influence technical direction.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of overall experience, a Master’s degree is required, and a strong background in designing and delivering secure, high-performance, and resilient enterprise systems. This is an on-site role in San Francisco, CA, and the selected professional will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define architecture standards, solution roadmaps, and implementation strategies.

This position is best suited for a strategic technical leader who can balance architectural governance with practical delivery, mentor teams, and drive enterprise transformation through modern cloud and application design.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture design for enterprise software solutions with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

• Architect and review complex solutions built on Java and AWS ecosystems.

• Define technical standards, architectural guardrails, and best practices across development teams.

• Partner with product managers, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Drive solution design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making across multiple initiatives.

• Evaluate cloud services, frameworks, integration patterns, and enterprise tools to improve system efficiency and maintainability.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and engineering teams.

• Support implementation where necessary and ensure architecture alignment throughout the SDLC.

• Identify risks, dependencies, and technical trade-offs early and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Ensure solutions meet enterprise compliance, security, and governance expectations.

• Contribute to long-term technology strategy and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.

• Strong background in designing and implementing large-scale enterprise systems.

• Proven experience in technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Education

• Master’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Java

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS

• Deep understanding of enterprise solution design and architecture

• Experience with microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and integration patterns

• Working knowledge of security, scalability, observability, and performance engineering

• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend architecture decisions

Leadership Skills

• Demonstrated leadership in technical design and architecture governance

• Ability to mentor and influence engineering teams

• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to drive consensus across teams and senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications
