Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure, automation, and release engineering initiatives for a modern software delivery organization. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable AWS-based infrastructure, building robust CI/CD pipelines, and enabling reliable deployment processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, containerization, Linux administration, and monitoring/logging platforms. This position requires a proactive engineer who can collaborate effectively with software development, QA, and product teams to improve deployment speed, system reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.

The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in improving engineering velocity while ensuring infrastructure is secure, resilient, cost-effective, and aligned with best practices. Strong scripting, documentation, and troubleshooting skills are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

  • Automate build, test, deployment, and release workflows to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.

  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage orchestration using Kubernetes or AWS ECS.

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding solutions using Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar tools.

  • Configure centralized logging and log analysis using ELK Stack, Splunk, or equivalent platforms.

  • Support infrastructure automation, environment provisioning, and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, or related tools.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, performance, and environment issues in a timely and structured manner.

  • Collaborate with development teams to improve build pipelines, release efficiency, application reliability, and deployment consistency.

  • Apply security, governance, and compliance best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows.

  • Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure, operational procedures, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, release planning, and incident response activities.

  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to tools, processes, and platform capabilities.


Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting cloud infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines in production environments.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

    • EC2

    • S3

    • RDS

    • VPC

    • IAM

  • Strong working knowledge of Linux server administration.

  • Proficiency in shell scripting and automation.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:

    • Terraform

    • CloudFormation

    • Ansible

  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines with:

    • Jenkins

    • GitLab CI

    • GitHub Actions

  • Strong knowledge of Docker and container lifecycle management.

  • Experience with Kubernetes or AWS ECS.

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as:

    • Prometheus

    • CloudWatch

    • ELK Stack

    • Splunk

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • AWS certification such as:

    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  • Docker certification or Kubernetes certification.

  • Experience with release engineering, infrastructure scaling, and cloud cost optimization.

  • Familiarity with security best practices, secrets management, and access control.

  • Experience in Agile or DevOps-driven software delivery environments.
