Description

Location: Waltham, MA 100% onsite Duration: 6 months, extension possible based on performance and business needs. Team Size: 18, Sub team: 6 Scientist, Oncology Bioscience At AstraZeneca Oncology R&D, our vision is redefining cancer, redefining our solutions to cancer and restoring patients' lives. In this role, you will join a dynamic and collaborative in vivo biology team in our state-of-the-art Biohub facility in Waltham, MA. The primary responsibilities of this position are to support our preclinical in vivo pharmacology team by managing our patient derived xenograft (PDX) bank and expansion, and performing in vitro and ex vivo experiments in support of our drug discovery projects. Key Responsibilities: Leverage skills to support the team, including: • Manage and update PDX model inventory • Perform large scale cell culture of tumor cell lines for in vivo studies. • Profile xenograft tumor samples to explore mechanisms of drug response and resistance using both traditional and novel approaches. • Proficient in working with various programs and databases. • Hands-on experience with rodents is a plus, but not required. If resource has the experience, support with PDX model expansion, characterization and banking across a variety of different solid tumor indications would be part of the responsibilities. Essential requirements: • BS with 1-2 years of experience • Hands-on in vitro pharmacology, cell biology or related experience, preferably in pharma industry. Top 3 requirements: In vitro exp. Strong organizational skills Excellent communication In vivo experience is not a requirement but desired. If candidate does not have the in vivo experience, opportunity to be trained may exist. Interview Process: 1 virtual interview, possibly a 2nd virtual or onsite.
