Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Department: Finance
Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager / Controller
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining vendor records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable principles, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Process and verify a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.

Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any discrepancies.

Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment-related issues.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files.
-
Respond to vendor inquiries and internal requests in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the finance department.

Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or a related field is a plus.

2+ years of experience in an accounts payable role.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, particularly as they relate to accounts payable.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
