Key Responsibilities:

• Perform DNA/RNA isolation, restriction enzyme digestion, RT-PCR, and DNA sequence analysis to support molecular biology research.

• Execute quantitative bioassays and chemical testing to evaluate biological and chemical compounds.

• Utilize Konstanz Information Miner (KNIME) software for cheminformatics and data analysis tasks.

• Conduct ultrafiltration, depth filtration, and chromatography techniques for protein purification and sample preparation.

• Apply aseptic techniques and adhere strictly to lab safety protocols and safety regulations in all experimental procedures.

• Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness.

• Follow standard lab procedures for microbiological testing and handling of biological specimens.

• Assist in ongoing malaria research, contributing to data collection, documentation, and analysis.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to interpret results and contribute to scientific reports and publications.

• Maintain detailed lab records, ensure quality control, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in Excel for data logging, analysis, and visualization.

• Experience with Konstanz Information Miner (KNIME) for workflow automation and data mining.

• Hands-on expertise in ultrafiltration, depth filtration, and chromatography methods.

• Strong foundation in quantitative bioassays, RT-PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, and DNA sequence analysis.

• Skilled in DNA/RNA isolation and downstream processing techniques.

• Practical knowledge of protein purification and chemical testing protocols.

• Familiarity with cheminformatics applications in drug discovery or life science research.

• Understanding of microbiology and the application of aseptic techniques in the laboratory.

• Strict adherence to lab safety, lab procedures, and safety regulations.

• Ability to handle and troubleshoot various lab equipment effectively.

• Prior involvement in malaria research or other infectious disease studies is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.

• 3+ years of laboratory or research experience preferred.

• Strong documentation and analytical skills.
