Description

The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for performing analytical testing on samples to support quality control, research, regulatory compliance, or environmental monitoring. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to standardized procedures and safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct chemical, physical, and/or biological tests on samples using laboratory instruments and techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, spectroscopy, microbiological assays).

  • Prepare reagents, solutions, and calibration standards according to SOPs.

  • Record and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.

  • Maintain and calibrate lab instruments; troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.

  • Ensure laboratory safety and cleanliness, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Document findings in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or manual logs.

  • Assist in developing or validating new test methods or protocols.

  • Comply with regulatory guidelines such as ISO, GLP, GMP, EPA, or FDA, depending on the industry.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., QA, R&D, Production) as necessary.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in laboratory techniques and instrumentation; familiarity with quality control procedures and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LIMS or electronic lab notebooks.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to the industry.

  • Certifications such as ASCP, CLIA, or industry-specific accreditations.
