Pay rate: $75.00 Bill rate: $102.00 The Coca-Cola Freestyle team is growing and is looking for a motivated electrical engineer to join our Electronics Subsystems Group (ESG). The ESG team is responsible for the design and validation of the electrical systems, boards and displays used in the Freestyle Dispensers. We need a hands-on engineer capable of working across boundaries to understand customer needs, to design and improve world-leading products, and to put them into production using our stage-gate process. What You’ll Do: • Work within an engineering team to improve quality, lower cost, and continuous development of new and existing products. • Work with a cross-functional team to determine the optimum architecture, design, and implementation of hardware products. • Independently test embedded circuit board designs • Work closely with the software and firmware teams, understand the dependencies between hardware and software development activities. • Strong understanding of DFx best practices for circuit board assembly and testing • Collaborate and communicate effectively across groups. What You’ll Need: • BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or relevant experience and a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience. • Electronics design experience that includes: o Working with contract manufacturers to resolve Product Change Notifications (PCN) & End of Life (EOL) notifications. o Coordinating with design engineers and purchasing teams to find replacement components. o Qualification of replacement parts by working with resources in software, QA, firmware, manufacturing, and procurement. o Updating and maintaining design documentation such as test reports, schematics, PCB layout, and bill of materials. • Ability to work with Procurement and Manufacturing counterparts to identify potential supply chain issues and recommend appropriate actions including identification of alternate suppliers, last-time-buy quantity recommendation, and component harvesting opportunities. • Demonstrate good judgment regarding what level of verification testing is required for different component End-of-Life scenarios including: Datasheet inspection, Component Testing, Board-Level testing, and System level testing. • Ability to work cross-functionally with Firmware and Software teams to write feature requests and guide the development of new drivers to support alternate components. • Understands the electronics design lifecycle from requirements, through design phases, testing, release to manufacturing and sustaining. • Experience with Windchill as a PLM system highly desirable • Experience using Electronics BOM Lifecycle Management tools such as Silicon Expert or IHS • Experience developing component specifications and test plans to validate performance against requirements. • Excellent documentation and communication skills to explain findings, make recommendations, and coordinate changes. Preferred Experience (an asset): • Prior experience with Altium Designer is a plus. • Familiarity with microcontroller circuit design and interfacing with common communication interfaces such as Serial, USB, SPI, I2C and CAN • Familiarity with cable harness design considerations and component selection • Familiarity with C, C++, C#, or Python for test firmware • Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance for domestic and international (FCC, ETSI, UL and CE) is desirable.
