Summary:

• Reviews packaging, websites, advertising copy, social media content, and evidence of use, and liaises with business partners regarding the same.
• Executes domestic and international trademark screening and searching online, and conducts initial review of search results, to determine availability and scope of potential rights.
• Conducts preliminary analysis of basic trademark and copyright issues and makes recommendations to in-house counsel regarding such matters.
• Educates business partners regarding proper trademark use and the processes for clearing and protecting new trademarks.
• Maintains and updates relevant Trademark Department documents, guidelines and procedures, and initiates revisions based on business needs.
• Maintains trademark portfolio management databases, including data entry, docket review, and preparation of reports for attorneys and business units.
• Provides support and due diligence in connection with transactional matters.
• Assists in management of U.S. and foreign trademark portfolios, including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.
• Strong organizational and planning skills are required, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle numerous tasks and projects within tight deadlines is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel), as well as Saegis, is required.
• Online research skills are required.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 2+ years experience as a trademark paralegal preferred.
• Candidate needs to be extremely motivated, energetic, and able to work independently and in team/group settings.
